CHARLES KARNER BUCKNUM

The greatest of the Bucknum surname is Charles Karner Bucknum. He is more important in history than the race car drivers Ronnie and Jeff Bucknum. Charles Karner Bucknum was born in IN and was in the Union Army in the Civil War and served honorably. He went out to the West later and fought in the Indian Wars in the Old West. He became Mayor of Casper, WY (Casper is the largest city in WY). He also served in the WY legislature as a State Representative. The railroad established a railroad stop and a post office in a place in WY (near Casper) that they officially named Bucknum, WY in about 1907. His descendants may be some of the Bucknum's on the West Coast today in CA, OR and WA. But I do not know that is true for certain.

KIPLING & REINCARNATION

Rudyard Kipling, who may have been a reincarnationist, believed, above all things, that in the scheme of things "the door is shut" or "the door is completely shut"...he means that when a human being's soul is reborn into a new body that there is no recollection and no vestiges of a past life or lives typically...you start anew with no recollection of any past...but I believe the past life of a soul shapes the new life that soul is born in to thus...the challenges and the gifts that one gets within a new life are determined by the previous life that that soul in fact had...one's actions determine one's destiny and one's fortune...and the door is always shut towards the past, and the person's past is a complete secret...MJB
