MOLECULES

Molecules are like postage stamps in a way....each molecule has a story and some molecules are richer than others....stamps have dull or interesting stories too.....but the molecules can be interpreted in terms of mathematics and there are families of molecules related by structural formulas and ultimately by mathematical abstraction...I was attracted to the structural forms and corresponding stories of molecules....some are killers and some save lives.....some molecules are just boring and they do not have any important story.....some molecules are very valuable and others are colorful....and the extended patterns of the molecules are yet on another level telling a story and reducible to some types of mathematical abstraction....that was my level of interest....I was never interested much in physics or in astronomy....just in chemistry and mathematics and patterns....it all came about gradually first at IUP then more so at UKy and Cornell.....I learned the most at Cornell.

MAPPING MOLECULES

The indexes (1) polygonality (n = 2E/F) and (2) connectivity (p = 2E/V) and (3) weight (r = averaged atomic number)…..can be used to "map" all the molecules in 3D with coordinates (n, p, r)….but without distinguishing isomers. In such a scheme all bonds would be considered edges, E, so that double, triple and quadruple bonds would contribute 2, 3 and 4 edges to "E" in a graph. Each edge, thus,  joining a vertex would contribute 1 more to the vertex number at the given node in the graph. One could "map" everything this way and develop least squares equations that encode various "families" of molecules like hydrocarbons.

OFF to INFINITY

Patrick claims he understands Eintein's theory of gravity and can do calculations with Einstein's tensorial field equations. He claims he understands Hawking's theory of quantized gravity and his theory of black hole entropy and can do calculations with Hawking's equations. And on it goes...He claims that by reading the books in the Oceanside Public Library and going on the internet and doing graduate physics problem sets....that he has mastered relativity theory and quantum gravity theory etc. etc. I see him writing things on little slips of paper (that are provided by the OPL).with little pencils provided by the OPL...Then he transcribes his notes in to either a Word document or documents or in to email messages to himself. I have asked him about this. He does not offer to share his writings at all. He told me that he writes notes to himself talking about being homeless and what he would do if he were in charge of helping the homeless. He says he has been writing emails to himself since about 2003. He will not share his writings with me or anyone else I believe. He has the capacity to be doing important physics and mathematics work. But most likely he is just perpetually going over old, long established results and not adding anything new. At about 70 he is heading off to infinity in Oceanside as the grandmaster of the professional homeless. I believe he could live here at Milica's House if he would just apply for Social Security retirement about 8 years ago.....he says he is "100% happy with his living situation", however, and so he goes off to infinity. He may have important results in his perhaps 1000's of emails to himself....But perhaps no one will ever know.

CONVERGENCE in the PRIME RATIOS

The (n + 1)th Fibonacci number in a ratio with the nth Fibonacci number has a limiting value equal to the golden ratio. Does the (n + 1)th Prime in a ratio with the nth Prime converge to a limiting value equal to some significant number in mathematics? It looks like 2 over 1 equal to 2 is the highest value of such a ratio....where the rest of these ratios fall between 1 and 2 and they jump around and do not converge on any significant number in math. I did a search for the convergence of such ratios on Bing and I did not see anything there on any kind of mathematical law of convergence of this sequence of ratios.....but someone has figured it out....but I have never heard of it.
