NO PI STRAIN NETWORKS

There are at least two 3-,4-connected nets with no pi strain that I thought about. One is the net "dmd" or "exocyclobutadieneite" and the other net is "mjb" or "squaroglitter". It is obvious that "mjb" can be made by compressing (4, 4)-nanotubes...and it would probably persist kinetically because there is no pi strain in it...just some 4-gons. For "dmd" there is no obvious route to synthesis...but it would persist for the same reasoning as in "mjb". Both of these lattices are C-based semiconductors and thus their synthesis would open the doors to faster computational devices based upon C instead of Si. In all of this I cannot understand why there isn't anyone out there following up on these suggestions. "mjb" was thought about by me...but Nick Gerovac did the orbitals of "mjb" in his thesis and you and Prasad Dasari did the actual article on "squaroglitter" with me and Nick as minor co-authors. "dmd" was done by me and Prasad Dasari. I believe Wells probably enumerated others in this family.
