PLATONISM

The Greeks had it right in the 1st Millenium before Christ. The Pythagorean School believed numbers to be Gods because they didn't change with the passage of time........and knowledge is "out there"in the universe in a place without physical location. The belief system is called "Platonism" after Plato, the Greek philosopher who enunciated it first. Mathematical truth is discovered and not created by humans. And so it is for beauty and harmony and other forms of truth. I believe in platonism completely. Our minds on occassion have limited access to the platonic world of truths. Our senses interpreting the World around us sees various approximations to beauty and harmony and other truths, and these approximations we sense have an absolute analog in the platonic realm of absolute meaning and truth. We just sense the approximations.
